They say that the winds are gusting to only 25 MPH, but this 130 year old house seems to be rocking and swaying more than I would expect. On the first floor it’s not so bad, but up on the second it’s more pronounced; I don’t want to know what it feels like on the third...

If the Yellow Brick Road is visible when it stops blowing then...you are in trouble.

I hope that’s photoshopped...

You’d love our place... Modern timber-frame structure (moderately flexible by design), semi-regular 70mph winds.
It feels... Exciting.

Sounds like ours. Two stories, and the closet doors (sliding ones) will rattle when it gets bad. You can feel the whole house shudder on a good gust.

Because the timber frame has flex, up on the second floor, when a big gust hits you can feel the whole house take a flex. It doesn’t so much shudder as take a lean and hold it until the gust lets up, then it sort of sighs back into place.

25 mph wind against enough surface area is enough to push a laden ship across water at a good clip. How big of a sail is your house? :)
